About This Breed

It is believed that Lord Tweedmouth in Scotland purchased the only yellow puppy that was born into a litter of black Flat Coated Retrievers. He then developed the breed with the aim of producing the lighter colour retriever, giving us the Golden Retriever.

They are a well-mannered, intelligent dog with great charm. They are easy to train but can tend to be big puppies sometimes. They are very good with children, which make them great family pets.
